Dec 19: Lucy is 100 Days old! All hail!
Dec 13th: Lucy is finishing up her stay in St Thomas, and wants to wish everyone a happy Geminid meteor shower & upcoming Solstice. She played a lot with her friends Julia & Arthur, spent some time at the beach (attracting many stares, as her bathing suit only used a square foot or 2 of cloth), and learned many things. Her new phrase is "ahgoo, aboo", which I believe is her way of saying she admires Apu, from the Simpsons. She has been obsessing since seeing Kevin & John's Simpsons action figures this Halloween. Today was also her first ever crying free day. Just honks, squeeks & gestures got her through 24 hours. Long may the 3 month old behavior last.

Nov 18: Results now in from Lucy's 2-month checkup on 11/14: she's
a little over 22 inches tall, 10 lbs., 13 oz., with an enormously
sized 39.2 cm head. She also got four shots, which must've scared
all the bad behavior out of her, because she's been an angel ever
since. Lu also discovered her feet on the 16th, although she is
not yet Lord of the Dance, she is happily parapedal, using her
feet instead as 2 more hands.
Nov 5: Following up after a couple of tough days. The little honker wouldn't sleep for 2 nights in a row, had an infinite appetite, kept spitting up, and wouldn't stop crying. Kate seems to have discovered a cure in just holding her all night. So last night went really well, I even caught a couple hours of sleep with her nodded off on my chest.
Oct 15- Drs appt today. Lucy now 21.5", and 8.5 lbs. previous estimate of weight gain was slightly exaggerated. Still, if she continues growing at this rate,she will be 27' tall by her 18th birthday. She will be a slender 331 lbs though, which is too bony for a 27 footer. I think her head will be about 12 feet across, but I haven't done the math yet.
Oct 10: 1 Month OLD!!!
Lucy's first visit to the MFA. She likes the new Netsuke exhibit. She also Liked Angel last night, and sleeping on Wrisley, and Carlos' dinner, but she thought Buffy was a little too Maudlin.
Oct 9: Lucy turns 30. She has learned a ton this week. Lu was imitating Kate sticking out her tongue, and looking cross-eyed down at her nose trying to see if her tongue was out. She has been smiling at us for about a week now, and bats at toys in her bouncy seat too. She also has an elaborate waking routine involving a zillion stretches and smiles and noises.
weight 8 lbs 11 ozs or so. She growing ridiculously fast. Yah.
Lucy Likes: Squirming, Pillows with trippy patterns (can stare at 'em for hours), Being Held, Head Support, Milk of Momnesia, Cash, Appreciable Securities & Clean Diapers.
Parents like: Sleep. Food. Quiet times. Lucy.
September 10th, 2:54 am. 7 lbs 2 oz, 20 inches.
Sept 26:
Lucy is now sweet 16 (days) old. Getting more focused, starting to pay more attention when I lecture her on the importance of getting into a good school. She is also sticking her thumb in her ear, and waving her hand, so I am guessing she doesn't understand the degree of respect she should be according her parents yet.
Lucy took a few field trips this week, spending the weekend in Arlington w us at Stephen and Amy's, going apple picking, and to King Richard's Faire, where she made new friends, and tried to say "Daddy, buy me a pony" without much success.
Sept 10: Lucy Lou, the Butter Poo, Day 10
She has regained and passed her birth weight, and is now 7 lbs 3 oz, and 20.5 inches tall. Her favorite new sleeping pose involves holding both hands overhead, like a successful gymnast, or a surrendering soldier.

Today in Lucy's world: Lucy spoke her 1st word, "help". She said it twice at different times, so I am sure she knows what it means. Perhaps she is a reincarnation of Vincent Price, or maybe a fly.
Tommorow: Lucy learns to play the "theme from shaft" on a baby guitar.
